'Daisy' Young

Our Horse of the Month for June is the gorgeous Daisy! Daisy showed signs of Equine Cushing’s disease for several years before she was diagnosed. Her owner Emily reports that she regularly suffered from laminitis, had a curly coat and held onto her coat for longer than expected as well. She was diagnosed this year after a blood test, and although Emily was disappointed with the diagnosis at first she is now pleased that it was picked up because it is so easily managed. Emily gives Daisy one tablet of medication a day and restricts her grazing as well as giving her soaked hay and this is working well to control her laminitis. We are so pleased that Daisy is doing well – she certainly looks very happy!
