'Hal' Gerrard-Young

Our Horse of the Month for October is Hal! Two years ago Hal rapidly lost weight and muscle, was struggling to shed his winter coat, and was very dull and lethargic. After his diagnosis of Equine Cushing’s disease he started treatment with daily tablets, and his owner Tracey reports that he is ‘like his old self’ again! Tracey now restricts him to a feed low in starch and sugar to help with weight gain, and we can see from the before and after photos that Tracey has sent in how well he is doing! Hal now enjoys going on beach rides with Tracey, and has started jumping again. He will be going to his first show in a long time next month….Good luck Tracey and Hal! Do let us know how you get on
