'Maddie' Brown
How medication helped Maddie get back to her usual self
Maddie had always been a lively pony but her owner Adelaide first realised something wasn’t right when Maddie became lame and started walking with her hooves outwards.
An ACTH test indicated that Maddie had Equine Cushing’s disease (PPID), and so she was started on medication to treat the disease.
She is now back to her usual self which is... “just wonderful for us to see her loving life again and being able to do what she used to do and being able to go out: showing, hacking and jumping which Maddie thoroughly enjoys very much. Maddie has now been on the tablets for around a year and there is such an improvement. It’s wonderful and so many thanks to everyone who helped us along the way to get Maddie back to herself x”
