How to use the Care About Cushing's website
How can I update or amend my horses veterinary practice details?
To edit your horse’s veterinary practice details:
- Sign in to your account
- Click on the Account Settings “cog” icon in the top right corner of the website
- Amend practice details by typing in the ‘select a practice’ box
- Click “Update”
Unfortunately, we are not able to change any details relating to your account on your behalf. To change or update any of your details, please log into your account and make any updates as needed.
How can I indicate that my horse has been prescribed medication to manage their Equine Cushing's disease?
To update your horse’s profile with their medication for Equine Cushing’s disease:
- Sign in
- Click on “My Yard”
- Click on your horse in “My Yard”
- After clicking on your horse, a + sign will appear in the bottom right-hand corner of your horse’s icon
- Click on the + sign and you will see options for editing your horse’s profile, including an option to indicate that they have been prescribed treatment for Equine Cushing’s disease – ensure this is ticked and on the first time you do this, it will ask for the treatment start date.

Please note that once the treatment start date has been entered, it cannot be changed
- Once you have indicated that your horse is being treated for Equine Cushing’s disease, you can alter their dose by adding a new entry on their timeline by clicking “Add new entry” and select the relevant dose
- Click “Save”

How are my horse’s test results uploaded to “My Yard”?
When your horse has a free* test through the Care About Cushing’s scheme, your horses result will automatically be uploaded to your “My Yard” directly by the laboratory who tested the blood sample. It can take up to 4 weeks for test results to be uploaded. (Please note that the Care About Cushing’s team, nor your vet practice upload results)
If your horse has had a test outside of the Care About Cushing’s scheme, then you can manually upload the result to your “My Yard” yourself, so that you can continue to track your horses progress.

How can I edit my horse's profile (e.g. change their name, medication, breed, age)

- Click on your horse in “My Yard”

- Click on the + and you will see options for editing your horse’s profile
- Click “Save”

I now belong to a “non-partner veterinary practice”
If you have received a notification to advise that your veterinary practice has changed to a non-partner veterinary practice, then this means that your veterinary practice no longer participates in the Care About Cushing’s scheme and your horse will no longer be entitled to free* diagnostic or monitoring tests for Equine Cushing’s disease.

How can I alter my horse owner profile?
To alter details in your profile:
(e.g. name, email, mobile number, password, contact preferences, veterinary practice)
- Sign in to your account
- Click on the Account Settings “cog” icon in the top right corner of the website
- Amend your details in your User Profile
- Click “Update”
